Typing on a touchscreen device isn’t as fast or easy as it could be, especially as the on-screen keyboard takes up a significant part of the screen. New technology could eliminate some of the frustration associated with typing on cell phones’ virtual keyboards. To help solve these issues, a new typing interface called Swype.
Swype provides a faster and easier way to input text on any screen. With one continuous finger or stylus motion across the screen keyboard, the patented technology enables users to input words faster and easier at over 40 words per minute. The application is designed to work across a variety of devices such as phones, tablets, game consoles, kiosks, televisions, virtual screens and more.
How to Activate Swype Keyboard in Android Mobiles
Here is how to enable Swype in Android phones :
- Go to Settings > Language and Keyboard
- Select Input Method

To switch back to the standard keyboard got to the Input Method menu and simply select the “Multi-touch keyboard” option.
That’s not the only way to enable/disable Swype though. Alternatively you can click and hold on any text input box (such as the body area of an email or text message). A menu will pop up and one of the options will be Input Methods. Here you can select Skype just as you did before.
If you don’t own Android mobile and have Nokia smart phone that also you can use Skype, by downloading from OVI Store.
