How To Generate QR Code Of Any Web Page

A QR code abbreviated ad Quick Response code is a specific matrix bar code or two-dimensional code. QR Code contains information in both the vertical and horizontal directions, where a bar code contains data in one direction only. QR Code holds a considerably greater volume of information than a bar code. A QR code can be used to store a URL, so users can instantly link to a website, blog, or social media property. This provides a connection between the typically offline world of print advertising and the online world. The QR code is also commonly used on business cards.

Many webmasters using Google URL Shortener (Goo.gl) but don’t know other great features of this service, on of them is generating QR code. To generate QR code of any web page follow below instruction.

  1. Go to goo.gl (Google’s URL shortener service).
  2. Make short URL of the web page for which you want to generate QR code.
  3. After making short URL add .qr at the end of url and paste it into your browser’s address bar then hit enter (e.g. http://goo.gl/g2Mbe.qr)
  4. That’s it. You done your QR code.

As for example, here I have created QR code for thetechexpress
Short URL for thetechexpress.com is http://goo.gl/g2Mbe
Now add .qr at the end of the short url – http://goo.gl/g2Mbe.qr, now paste this url in browser’s address bar and you will get QR code like below for thetechexpress.com

Many people don’t know that Google URL shortener is also give you the statistics of the shorten URL like bit.ly, to get statistics of the shorten URL simply add + at the end (i.e. http://goo.gl/g2Mbe+)  and paste it into your browser’s address bar then hit enter. You will get statistics page like below.
